Display this poster in your classroom to encourage your students to utilise positive strategies as they learn to recognise and regulate their emotions.
There are two posters included, one for a younger age group and a more detailed poster for an older age group.
It is recommended that the poster be printed in A3 to be easier to see the individual images.
Discuss the calming strategies listed on the poster with your class.
Explain that these calming strategies are there as an option to help them to focus and get back on task if needed.
Talk about the emotions that might require the use of one of the strategies on the poster.
This resource makes up part of the overall Your Teacher’s Pet Creature Emotional Regulation approach to introducing self-regulation skills. While it works great on its own we always recommend pairing it with a Your Teacher's Pet Creature and our other related resources.
My kindergarten class love this resource, they refer to the poster to assist with self-regulation regularly, and the poster is on display above our pet creature in his special chair along with the 5 L's of listening poster.
