1. Print the pet on either white paper/cardstock (cardstock will be more durable and last longer).
2. If using the black and white version, colour in the pet or print on coloured paper.
3. Cut the page vertically (top to bottom) to separate the main body from the body parts, avoiding the dotted lines (these will be needed).
4. Using a craft knife or sharp scissors, cut a line on the top lip of the pet to allow for the teeth. This step is only for older students. You can pre-cut these for younger students for safety purposes.
5. Fold the pet on each of the three dotted lines, using a ruler if needed.
6. Cut out the pet and the body parts.
7. Glue the teeth under the lip. Apply the glue to the top and insert them under the slit in the lip.
8. Glue all other body parts in the appropriate places.
9. With the pet facing up, fold it in half.
10. Then take the bottom to the top so you can now see the top of the pet.
11. Flip the pet over and fold up the bottom.
12. Fold the edges of the strips over slightly.
13. Lay the pet out flat facing down..
14. Glue the folded parts of the paper strips and place one strip on second section of the pet and the next strip on the third part of the pet.
15. Place your fingers inside the top strip and thumb in the bottom strip.
