These is a simple, yet effective breathing boards are made to assist children to take a breath. By following the arrows on the breathing boards, children will practice the necessary technique to help them calm down when needed.
As a whole class you can discuss the what the breathing boards are used for.
Demonstrate to the class how they are used by following the arrows with your finger and breathing in and out as instructed on the board.
Encourage the children to have a turn at following the arrows with their finger and practice their breathing in and out.
Explain that these breathing boards can be used if the children are feeling frustrated or angry and need help to calm down.
These boards can be laminated and placed in a spot in your classroom for the children to help themselves to when needed.
