This emotions and feelings journal can be used to encourage your children to identify and describe emotions and feelings. With a number of different questions included, the children will explore situations where they felt a number of different feelings and emotions. These pages can be formed into a book that can be completed throughout the year.
Provide each child with their own printed copy of the emotions and feelings journal.
Depending on the age group, the children can either work on their own or it can be a structured writing lesson.
The children can also either just draw a picture or also add some writing underneath too.
If children are willing, this writing could be shared with the class to demonstrate feelings and emotions in different situations.
This resource makes up part of the overall Your Teacher’s Pet Creature Emotional Regulation approach to introducing self-regulation skills. While it works great on its own we always recommend pairing it with a Your Teacher's Pet Creature and our other related resources.
