This pen pal pack includes a number of resources to help you get a pen pal exchange started. It includes various activity sheets that can completed and exchanged between your students’ pen pals.
Implementation Ideas/Suggestions
- As a whole class discuss what a pen pal is.
- Decide as a group if you wish to exchange letters within the same country or different countries.
- We suggest posting in the various teaching groups on Facebook to find another teacher willing to participate in the pen pal exchange with you.
- With your students, discuss the basic layout to a letter using the templates provided in the pack.
- Students can then also complete different activity sheets included about themselves and then these can be either emailed or mailed to the pen pal class.
- We suggest monitoring all interactions between pen pals.
